Joseph J. London has been an active member of the State Bar of California continuously since 1976 practicing real estate, business, corporation and franchise law.
From 1982 to 1994 Mr. London served as Associate General Counsel of IHOP Corp. (now known as DineEquity, Inc.) handling, among other things, hundreds of real estate transactions for new restaurant locations across the country. Since 1995 Mr. London has been in private practice representing large and small business enterprises in a variety of practice areas, including real estate, business, franchise and corporate transactions.
Mr. London’s approach is to work hard to understand his clients’ needs, carefully analyze their matters, determine their goals, and plot a course best designed to achieve their goals in the most efficient manner practical. From his decades of experience, he has learned that each matter he handles and the personalities involved require a unique approach—one size does not fit all. His preference is to be cordial, constructive and respectful of others, including his adversaries. However, when the situation requires, he can be very aggressive and relentless in achieving his clients’ goals. He has excellent communication and analytical skills. His contract drafting skills are second to none.
Mr. London prides himself on satisfying his clients, whether large or small. He treats them with the respect and dignity that they deserve. He is quick to respond to their requests and to complete their work in a timely fashion. His staff is polite, competent and responsive as well. No call or email ever goes unanswered.
Mr. London grew up in Venice, California. His father died when he was 7 years old. He worked in his family’s clothing store in Venice after school and on weekends from ages 12 to 17. He attended Venice High School and later Valley State College in Northridge, California. He earned two post-graduate degrees: a Master of Arts in Sociology and a Juris Doctorate.
He worked his way through college, graduate school and law school. While he was attending graduate school and law school, he worked full-time as a Los Angeles County Probation Officer supervising juveniles and adults on probation.
He presently lives in Calabasas, CA with his wife, Dyan.
